This disconnected beach draws in less guests, and in this manner less hawkers than most Goa shorelines. It is about 13 kms from Panaji, on the way to Mapusa and is also referred to as Saligao Gothic Church. The church is lit up at night and looks charming and mystical.
Calangute beach is the busiest and most commercialized of all the beaches in Goa. It is teeming with foreigners, backpackers and tourists from all over India. Calangute is in North Goa, about 15 kms from Panaji and is a buzzing place with hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, shacks and shops. Visit the ancient Church of St. Alex, built in 1741, when in Calangute and be sure to check the calender for any festivals, music events, dances and other shows that are happening here.

Fort Aguada and its lighthouse have been standing guard to protect Goa since the seventeenth century and is the largest and the best-conserved Portuguese fort in Goa. Aguada fort and its lighthouse is an important landmark in the Goan history. Located around 18km from Panjim, overlooking the Arabian Sea this historic fort has been around since the 16th century. It is located on Sinquerim beach and is a well-preserved archeological monument.
Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception is one of the oldest churches in Goa, historians say it was built around the year 1540. The main altar is dedicated to Mary Immaculate and there are two altars that are flanked on each side of the main one. The one on the right is dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary and the one on the left is dedicated to Jesus. The church is considered as a Panjim landmark and is a truly grand church to visit.
